Protecting Ohio Workers, Employing Residents – P.O.W.E.R. – is a localized grassroots effort by concerned Ohio residents who recognize the disparity in the employment of qualified Ohio citizens within the state’s private, expanding oil and gas well industry.
At its core P.O.W.E.R., seeks to hold energy companies accountable for the promises they made on local job creation when they stated their intentions to bring their operations to our great state. P.O.W.E.R. imagines a prosperous shale oil & gas industry in Ohio with energy companies utilizing the local workforce and bringing down the state’s unemployment rate. There is a tremendous abundance of natural resources beneath Ohio’s lands and it is not only to the energy industry’s benefit but also their duty to employ the residents living above these resources.
P.O.W.E.R. acts as a watchdog for the Ohio workforce, and strongly advocates for working class professionals … many of whom have felt the effects of a struggling job market and weak economy over the recent years.
To attain its goals, P.O.W.E.R. is waging an informational campaign throughout the state that is meant to reach its citizenry, so that they may voice their opinions to the oil and gas companies and elected officials – so they are made aware: OHIO SHALE / OHIO JOBS!
