Washington County Officials are Breaking State Laws on RUMAs

Here is a prime example of how government officials will bend over backwards for big business even if it means breaking state laws. County officials in Washington County (Marietta) are skirting around Ohio’s prevailing wage law when writing up their Roadway Use Maintenance Agreements (RUMAs) for energy companies to use. Even Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine weighed in on the issue and said counties are required to abide by Ohio’s Prevailing Wage Law when entering into RUMAs with energy companies. Go to our ‘Send Email to County Commissioner’ page to take action and let it be known you want your government officials to follow the law just like any other person. Ohio’s workers deserve the best and not some county prosecutor undercutting their wages to the behest  of big oil.
