Local Work in Land Management Catching On

An integral part of the shale gas industry is tracking down land ownership and mineral rights. Before any drilling of oil and gas can take place you have to get permission to do it and know whose land it is where one wants to drill. This is a robust job field for eastern Ohio and probably will remain so for at least the next decade. Check out this statistic:  “A survey conducted among 3,139 of the AAPL’s 12,500 members last year showed that the median compensation for a landman working in the oil and gas industry was about $90,000 per year”.
